Pet PORTRAITS FOR PET LOVERS

ABOUT SUZANNE SPRATT

I am an artist that grew up in Southern California and moved to Seattle in 2007. At age 10 I was doing one frame cartoons for my local paper. Soon I was drawing characters for people on grocery bag book covers. I planned on being an art major in college but decided to go for something safer, a B.A. in Psychology. However, I never let go of creating.

In 1994, I found painting. I love the flow and feel of the paint as it spreads across the canvas. I've always loved animals. In 2016 I found painting animals fulfilled two of my loves at once. One of the biggest thrills besides painting is seeing the reaction of the pet parents when they see their fur baby recreated on canvas.

My art focuses on capturing the soul of the animal through the eyes. They are special creatures whom give unconditional love. They deserve to have their portraits done with love and respect.

Although my portfolio primary reflects paintings of cats and dogs I also enjoy creating portraits of larger animals including horses, donkeys and cows. I focus mostly on the heads of the animals capturing their expressions.
